MUMBAI (PTI) — “Gangor,” directed by Italo Spinelli and produced by Vinod Kumar Wuthoo, won the NETPAC Jury award at the 10th Third Eye Asian Film Festival 2011 last week. 

Wuthoo accepted the award from Maharashtra minister of culture Sanjay Deotale during a closing ceremony. The film also received special recognition from the international film jury.

The film is an Indo-Italian production based on a short story by Indian writer and activist Mahasweta Devi entitled, “Choli Ke Peeche.”  

“Gangor” stars Adil Hussain, Priyanka Bose, Seema Rahmani and Samrat Chakraborti. 

The film won four awards at the 11th New Jersey Independent South Asian Cinefest and the Cinemanila International Film Festival in the Philippines. 

‘Gangor’ is the first Indo-Italian co-production competing at the Rome International Film Festival. The film has been screened at various international film festivals in Shanghai, Taipei and Jerusalem.
