Bollywood music composer Pritam Chakraborty and singer Jubin Nautiyal will showcase their musical prowess in the forthcoming season 5 of “MTV Unplugged.”
Chakraborty is riding high on the success of his latest hit, “Gerua,” from the Shahrukh Khan-Kajol starrer “Dilwale,” which is currently on loop on everyone’s playlist. He has composed music for all the songs of the film.
Known for churning out melodies film after film, the accomplished composer has won numerous accolades and awards, and the show will bring some of those popular hits to the audiences.
Nautiyal, who is relatively new in the industry, was noticed for his debut song, “Meherbani,” in the film, “Shaukeens.” The talented singer struck it big after he voiced the heart-touching song, “Zindagi Kuch Toh Bata,” in Salman Khan’s film, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan.” He recently sang the popular song, “Bandya,” in the Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer “Jazbaa.”
Nautiyal has also lent his voice to the unreleased song, “Dayere,” from the film, “Dilwale.”
“MTV Unplugged” is a television series showcasing popular musical artists usually playing acoustic instruments in a live setting, where artists bring back some of their masterpieces.
It would be interesting to see the pair rearrange some of their most famous melodies on screen.
The previous seasons have featured artists such as Mohit Chauhan, A.R. Rahman, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Amit Trivedi, Sachin-Jigar, and Salim Suleiman, among others.
