Priyanka Chopra Donates Rs. 5 Million for Cancer Ward

In a noble gesture, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has donated Rs. 5 million to a suburban hospital in Mumbai which will use the money to construct a cancer ward.

The “Barfi!” actress said the donation was to build a ward in the memory of her father, Dr. Ashok Chopra, who died due to cancer earlier this year.

She donated the amount to help cancer patients of the Health Care Global Enterprises Cancer Center at Nanavati Hospital.

The 31-year-old actress inaugurated the section for cancer patients at the hospital in the presence of her mother Oct. 21.

“This is a very emotional cause as a few months back my father passed away because of this (cancer). I miss him. Something like this shouldn’t happen to anyone. I am proud to be associated with it,” a teary-eyed Chopra said.
