Akshay Kumar has become the first actor to have had three — that too consecutive! — 100-crore hits in a single year in India. The films are “Airlift,” “Housefull 3” and “Rustom.”

Though its pick-up is quite slow and it still has to sustain, the daily net collections of the delightful “Happy Bhag Jayegi” are showing an actual increase from 4th to 6th day. On Monday (Aug. 22) it was more than 50 percent of opening Friday (Aug. 19, which is called passing the “Monday test”) and on Wednesday (Aug. 24) it showed a jump over Tuesday (Aug. 23), which in turn had been better than Monday. Abhay Deol after half-a-decade, Jimmy Sheirgill and Diana Penty have cause to rejoice along with Ali Fazal.

Priyanka Chopra told a Mumbai tabloid that she has turned down more than six Hollywood offers because of her contractual obligations to “Quantico 2.” She now plans to do only one Hollywood and one Hindi film each year.

Bejoy Nambiar will do his second film with Farhan Akhtar now and has put his film with Dhanush and Harshvardhan Rane on the back burner. The film was to be the remake of Mani Rathnam’s “Agni Natchatiram.”

The news is that Ileana D’Cruz is not doing “Aankhen 2,” and producer Gaurang Doshi, who has had spats with key unit members even in the last film, is seeing red and terming the “Rustom” heroine unprofessional.

Shah Rukh Khan has begun shooting with Imtiaz Ali in Prague for their new film, also starring Anushka Sharma. Pritam has returned to the Ali fold in place of A.R. Rahman, who had replaced him from “Rockstar.” And SRK is responsible.

Sunny Leone, who has now included a no-kissing clause in her films to come (!), is doing a special number with Emraan Hashmi in “Baadshaho.” Leone also shot for three or four days with Sonakshi Sinha for a key cameo in the film “Noor.” An excited Sinha tells us it is already a wrap for the film!

Karan Johar has tweeted about the teaser of his show “Koffee With Karan,” which is making a comeback.

Stay tuned to this space for more buzz soon!
