Indian singer Hema Sardesai, popular for lending her voice to several Hindi film songs in the ‘90s and early 2000s, has made her international debut.

The singer, best known for rendering the song, “Aawara Bhawren Jo Hole Hole Gaaye,” in the Kajol starrer, “Sapnay,” released her latest English single, “Power of Love,” in New York, Dec.11.

For this venture, the noted playback singer of Goan origin, has collaborated with Grammy Award-winning Hollywood producer Tony Mercedes.

The video also features popular Indian television star, Mishaal Raheja, who is known for his role of Datta Bhau in the show, “Laagi Tujhse Lagan.”

Some of the other songs that Sardesai has received plenty of acclaim for in Bollywood include “Badal Pe Paon Hai” from “Chak de India,” “Chali Chali Phir Chali” from “Baghban” and “Ishq Sona Hai” from “Biwi No. 1.”

Sardesai, who has released several Indi pop albums and recorded quite a few television jingles, also has the honor of performing at the celebrations for the 50th year of India’s Independence. The other female singer who was a part of the celebrations was Lata Mangeshkar.
