Mindy Kaling’s Disney venture, “A Wrinkle in Time,” released March 10, and no one is more proud than her longtime friend and ex-boyfriend, actor B.J. Novak.

Celebrating her film, and her achievements, the latter took to social media to write a heart-felt message for Kaling, one that moved the Indian American actress to tears.

“When I met @mindykaling she lived in a small apartment in Fairfax Ave. This is what’s in front of that building today. Congrats Mindy and a future congrats to all those who see you in it and are inspired to do great things. @WrinkleInTime,” the writer-actor wrote and also shared a photo of the Disney movie poster featuring Kaling’s face that was at a bus stop.

“Oh my god I’m like full crying. I will never be mad at you again,” Kaling responded on Twitter.

The message was met with instant love on social media. The message has been retweeted 18,000 times while being “liked” over 180,000 times.

The two may not be dating anymore but were most recently spotted on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscars party March 4.

In 2015, in an interview with InStyle, reports people.com, Kaling shared the nature of her relationship with her former “Office” co-star.

“I will freely admit: My relationship with B.J. Novak is weird as hell. He is not my boyfriend, but he is not my best friend,” Kaling admitted to InStyle in 2015.

“I guess you could describe our relationship as a ‘romantically charged camaraderie with loud arguments,’ but I don’t think Facebook would accept this as a new status,” she added.

In 2014, Novak, 38, opened up to People about his friendly – and at times romantic – relationship with Kaling.

“Complicated,” he said when asked to describe Kaling in one word. “A really complicated person and a really complicated friendship, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.”
