Sordid Secrets Kept Under Wraps in ‘Compromise’

Layla Alizada and Rahul Nath in “Compromise.”

Dentist-turned-filmmaker Rahul Nath directs, writes and stars in “Compromise,” an NRI-produced short thriller which has appeared in numerous festivals.

The film is about three Indian American siblings — Karthik (Nath), Shalini (Layla Alizada) and Ameet (Pritesh Shah) — who each attempt to take on the challenges of modern life in their own disparate ways. Each sibling has a sordid secret to conceal.

Nath, whose previous directorial effort was titled “Foreign,” has been seen on TV commercials including those for Virgin America, Intel and State Farm Insurance, said a spokesperson.

According to a representative for the film, the 30-minute “Compromise” has screened at the American International Film Festival in Ann Arbor, Michigan and the South Asian Film Festival in Goa. Future screenings include the South Asian Film Festival of Canada and the Chicago South Asian Film Festival, said the representative, adding that “Compromise” will be available on Netflix and Amazon this September.
