Variety raves about MTV’s new scripted comedy series, “I Just Want My Pants Back,” which airs Thursdays at 11 p.m. ET/PT boosted by a lead-in from the hit show “Jersey Shore.” Calling the show “smart and funny,” Variety’s critic writes “Good is good, and MTV’s ‘I Just Want My Pants Back’ is easily the channel's best effort since plunging into the scripted business.”
Indian American actor Sunkrish Bala has a major role on the show as Bobby, the wisecracking owner of a corner bodega where twentysomething Jason Strider (Peter Vack) hangs out with his buddies as they navigate post-college life, love and sex in Brooklyn.
“I’m nothing like my character,” Bala said on an MTV blog. “But I know a lot of guys like [him]. I have a relationship with guys [like that].”
Bala grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from UCLA’s School of Film, Theater and Television. He has racked up numerous film and TV credits, including “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Will and Grace” and a starring role on the ABC comedy “Notes from the Underbelly.”
