MUMBAI—Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s magnum opus historic show “Porus” on Sony Entertainment Television has been loved by the viewers for its look as well as the strong characters who bring out the essence of the epic story with élan.
To maintain body language and composure, its actors have taken up various fitness trainings to maintain their bodies. Like Shraddha Musale, who plays Mahanandi Darshyu on the show, who has been learning Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
After the crime thriller “CID,” “Porus” is Musale’s first historic period drama. She stated, “I wasn’t apprehensive because I am playing a strong character. The show is set in a matriarchal society where all the decisions are taken by the queen. MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) prepared me well for the role. Rather than just depicting the character physically, it is about understanding the mental make-up of the character that matters, and MMA has helped me achieve that.”
