MUMBAI—Twelve fiery contestants, one tough taskmaster – and pain in Spain! With due apologies to “My Fair Lady” that talked on the “The Rain In Spain stays mainly on the plain,” the pain in Spain accompanied the contestants everywhere as they participated on “Fear Factor- Khatron Ke Khiladi” with Rohit Shetty as boss.
Powered by Jeep Compass, the show will air on Aap Ka Colors from Jul. 22.
When the 12 rather apprehensive contestants made their way to Spain, where they were challenged with harsh weather and extreme stunts on a difficulty meter that was soaring high, fear was redefined at every step. As usual, death-defying maneuvers and nail-biting acts were on their agenda.
Rithvik Dhanjani’s, Karan Wahi’s and Ravi Dubey’s antics; Shibani Dandekar’s, Geeta Phogat’s and Monica Dogra’s unusual friendship; Manveer Gurjar’s devil-may-care attitude; Nia Sharma’s and Shantanu Maheshwari’s never-ending swag; Hina Khan’s musical shenanigans; Shiny Doshi’s innocence and Lopamudra Raut’s makeup woes will soon become this season’s biggest talking points.
Produced by Endemol Shine India, this reality show is the channel’s ace and Raj Nayak, COO, Viacom18 stated, “Be it ‘Rising Star’ or ‘India Banega Manch,’ we strive to raise the bar of reality shows on Indian television. ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ has been a flagship show for us, and we are looking forward to this edition that promises edge-of-the-seat entertainment for the whole family.”
Host Shetty has not only played the role of a taskmaster enhancing the contestants' troubles but also served as a disciplinarian keeping a constant check on their performances.
Speaking about his experience as the host at a screening Jul. 18 at Sunny Super Sound, Shetty said, “Returning to ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ after two years, I was prepared to increase the intensity of stunt levels to challenge the contestants, and they’ve risen to the occasion. Their never-say-die attitude was impressive, especially their dedication to give 100 percent for every stunt. I am confident that this season is going to surpass all previous ones.”
