Star Plus is all set to turn viewers’ weekend chills into their weekend thrills with its new show, “Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai,” a mysterious tale of death and reincarnation, starring Surbhi Jyoti, Shoaib Ibrahim and Sharad Kelkar.

Surbhi Jyoti will be seen in a completely different role in this romantic supernatural thriller. She plays a young, simple girl hailing from a royal Rajasthani family. A diehard romantic who lives by her words, her character Gitanjali can go to any lengths to prove it.

As bereaved Gitanjali’s life unfolds every weekend, the audiences will realize that her story is not only a mysterious and an enigmatic one but is also full of twists and turns, stated a press release.

 “Gitanjali is the most unusual character I’ve played in my career. I’m thrilled to be a part of show, which will play with viewers’ minds and will keep them intrigued for more,” said Jyoti.

“What’s interesting is the story that has mind-boggling twists on every corner. I’m enthralled as the show is different from stereotypical dramas that are on TV and will be a unique treat for the audiences,” she added.

Shoaib Ibrahim, who will play an army officer, Abhimanyu, is the kind of man every young girl wishes to have as a husband, added the press release. Being an epitome of true love, Abhimanyu is a charming, compassionate person. Thrilled to be making a comeback to TV after four years, Ibrahim said: “It’s a great feeling to be back after four years and when it is a great show, a great production house and a great channel, a phenomenal script it’s all icing on the cake one can have!”

He added: “I feel my wait and hard work has paid off. I’m ecstatic to be a part of this show which is completely different from the regular drama of Indian television.”

“The show is in mystery, thriller genre that often borderlines to spooky. While it has some bit of romance and drama, its twists and turns would definitely bring the thrill and intrigue to its audiences,” said Sunjoy Waddhwa, CMD, Sphereorigins.

This show’s cast also includes Mita Vashisht, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Sreejita De and Shaleen Malhotra.

Beginning Feb. 25, “Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai” will air every Saturday and Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on Star Plus.
