MUMBAI— Zee TV’s top-rated show “Kumkum Bhagya” and its widely-appreciated spin-off, “Kundali Bhagya,” have both been audience favorites, emerging as leaders in the Hindi GEC landscape. Be it the love story between Abhi (Shabbir Ahluwalia) and Pragya (Sriti Jha) or the tale of Pragya’s sister Preetha (Shraddha Arya) as she crosses paths with Karan (Dheeraj Dhoopar) and Rishabh (Manit Joura), both shows have kept viewers entertained with many twists and turns.

And now, on Holi, both shows raised the entertainment quotient with a two-hour long Holi special episode wherein the shows’ lead actors came together to not only celebrate the festival but also light up television screens with their romantic equations.

For Karan and Preetha, their love story blossomed as they confessed their love for each other under the influence of ‘bhaang,’ leading to some cute romantic moments between the couple. Abhi and Pragya joined in for the festivities as they celebrated Holi together.

To add to the entertainment quotient, Abhi-Pragya and Karan-Preetha indulged in the fun as they played with colors while grooving to chartbusting music.

Joura said, “Special episodes, wherein we get a chance to perform alongside teams from different shows, are always very exciting, since we get an opportunity to meet and interact with other actors of the Zee fraternity and present something different to the audience. The change in location also refreshes our mind. Collaborating with the team of “Kumkum Bhagya” for a Holi special has been an amazing experience.”

He added, “Given the fun that Holi stands for, we took the time to celebrate the festival together and even ate some traditional fare. Shabbir is a true rock-star and I must say that Sriti is an amazing actor. We had a great time shooting this vibrant sequence together, and I hope that the audience enjoy the Holi ‘maha-sangam’ episode and continue to support us with their love and appreciation.”

The show was aired in India on Mar. 3.
