HCA Healthcare announced Dr. Ravi Chari as its new president of HCA’s West Florida Division. Chari previously served as senior VP of clinical excellence. A 10-year veteran of HCA, the Indian American physician has held hospital, division and corporate positions with the company. Chari joined HCA in 2008 as chief medical officer at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. In 2010, he was promoted to TriStar Division CMO and in 2011 he accepted a role in HCA’s corporate office as VP of clinical excellence. Chari is a graduate of University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at Duke University and fellowship at the University of Toronto.

• As part of a five-year, $6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education to increase the number of Hispanic and first generation, low-income students earning degrees in STEM, Colorado State University-Pueblo has hired three post-doctoral researchers, including Dr. Indrani Bhowmick. Bhowmick joined CBASE in April 2017. An inorganic and material chemist, she uses colorimetric sensors to detect toxic molecules/anions using Coordination Chemistry and hybrid materials. Her research with the CBASE undergraduates is focused on applied based colorimetric cyanide sensor using simple inexpensive coordination complexes.

Micron Technology Inc. named Raj Talluri as senior VP and GM of the Mobile Business Unit. He joins Micron after nine years at Qualcomm, where he most recently served as senior VP of product management. Before joining Qualcomm, Talluri held executive positions at Texas Instruments. Talluri is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin, Anna University in Chennai, and Andhra University.

Seattle Genetics Inc. appointed Alpna Seth to the company's Board of Directors. Seth has more than 20 years of global experience in the healthcare and biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry, including senior leadership positions at Biogen. She currently serves as COO of Vir Biotechnology. She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School and conducted her post-doctoral research at Harvard University.

Comerica Bank named Sunita Patel, senior VP and managing director of the West Coast Technology and Life Sciences Division, as president of the TLS Division. Patel has spent her 25-year career in the venture lending market with 20 of those years managing Comerica's Venture Capital Group. She is a member of the VCNetwork, and also an early sponsor of the organization. She is a charter member of The Indus Entrepreneurs and serves on the advisory board for The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and The Women's Technology Cluster.

Civica, a supplier of critical software applications, digital solutions and managed services that help transform the way organizations work, has named Arvind Kohli finance director for their U.S. business unit, Civica CMI. Kohli's education includes earning his CPA, CMA certification from CPA Ontario, as well as a bachelor of commerce from the University of Windsor.

Ketaki Desai, executive director of the eCenter@LindenPointe, has stepped down from her position. Desai joined the eCenter in late 2015.
