Room to Read, a global nonprofit organization focused on literacy and girls’ education, has named Geetha Murali CEO. Murali has been at Room to Read for nearly nine years, most recently as chief development and communications officer. Murali has nearly 20 years of diverse experience across the corporate and non-profit sectors, including stints at the Digital Equalizer Program (American India Foundation) and Adobe Youth Voices.

• The Cooper’s Ferry Partnership Board of Trustees announced that it has appointed Kris Kolluri president and CEO of the organization. Former Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the Indian American executive has served as CEO of the Rowan University/Rutgers-Camden Board of Governors since 2014. Kolluri has also served as CEO of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority, where he oversaw the state’s $5.3 billion school construction program.

Piper Jaffray Companies, an investment bank and asset management firm, named Indian American Harsh Kumar a senior research analyst in equity research. Kumar joined Piper Jaffray from Stephens Inc., where he was a managing director. Before that, he spent nearly 12 years as a semiconductor analyst at Morgan Keegan. Kumar earned an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Arlington and a bachelor’s degree from University of Poona in India.

Cylance Inc. announced the promotion of Rahul Kashyap to global chief technology officer. Prior to joining Cylance, Kashyap was executive VP of products at Bromium and led worldwide threat research at McAfee Labs. He has a deep understanding of security and has been instrumental in building several key security technologies, including network intrusion prevention systems, host intrusion prevention systems, web application firewalls, whitelisting, endpoint/server host monitoring and micro-virtualization, Cylance said in a news release.

Rocket Software, a global technology provider specializing in modernization and optimization, named Anjali Arora senior VP and chief product officer. Prior to Rocket, she spent three years as global VP of software engineering for Oracle’s Health Sciences Global Business Unit.

Meta Company announced that former Apple India managing director Maneesh Dhir has joined the company as its new COO. Prior to Apple India, Dhir served as executive VP of international at America Online. Dhir previously was VP and GM of the Application Platform division at Netscape. Earlier in his career, he was part of the leadership team for KIVA Software. Dhir is a graduate of IIT New Delhi, Stanford University and UCLA.

Merlin International, a cybersecurity solutions provider, named Tejinder Luthra VP of engineering. Luthra joins Merlin after spending the last seven years at IBM, most recently as global technical executive for Cloud Analytics, where he was awarded Outstanding Technical Achievement two consecutive years. Prior to that, he held technical leadership positions at Netflix, Network Solutions, Fannie Mae, JP Morgan Chase and Philadelphia Gas Works. Luthra holds a bachelor’s of mechanical engineering from Gulbarga University in India and a master’s of computer science and software engineering from Drexel University.
