Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi and his eldest son visited the White House Jan. 16 to attend the Chicago Cubs’ official visit in commemoration of their World Series victory.
“Growing up in Peoria as a Cubs fan, I always dreamed of the Cubs one day winning the World Series,” said the Indian American official in a press release.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think of having the opportunity to celebrate the Cubs winning the World Series with a president and my son in the White House. It was an awe-inspiring experience to visit the White House and an incredible memory for a lifelong Cubs fan,” he added.
“This team showed the importance of never giving up and trying your hardest until the last out. Let’s all ‘fly the W’ today,” he said.
