Orange, Calif. — P.K. Nayak, along with the team of OFBJP-LA, had a luncheon “Meet and Mix” June 21 with Rep. Tulsi Gabbard at the Tandoor Cuisine of India restaurant here.
Ravi Tilak and Gabbard were able to identify some common connections at the American India Foundation, where Tilak is involved in the capacity of trustee (along with Bill Clinton) and a benefactor.
Other community leaders who attended the event included Dilip Butani, Rupa Nayak, Chaitali Raja, Priti Patil, Vijay Patil, Manu Patel, Vasu Pawar, Dr. Vaishaistha and many others.
They asked several questions about how Indian Americans can actively take part in the American political process as well as what plans Gabbard has to work towards better U.S.-India relations, especially with Narendra Modi coming to power recently.
Gabbard informed the attendees that she would support India’s war against all forms of terrorism, and work towards increasing trade volume between both the countries.
